Who we are
whattowatchnext.net (https://whattowatchnext.net) suggests what to watch next. For any question about your data, write to hello@whattowatchnext.net.
What we collect
We do not ask for a name, an email address or an account, and the site does not store personal details about you. To see which searches and pages are popular, we keep simple anonymous counts: which title was searched or opened, and when. These records carry no cookies, no visitor ids and no IP addresses, and are kept without a time limit.
To limit abuse, a one-way scrambled version of your IP address is kept for about a minute and cannot be turned back into an address.
Google Analytics
If you click Accept in the banner, we use Google Analytics (Google) to count visits and see how pages are used. It sets cookies in your browser and sends Google your IP address and details about your visit, which Google uses to produce reports for us under its own privacy policy. If you click Decline, nothing is loaded.
You can change your choice at any time: Cookie settings.
Other services involved
- TMDB (The Movie Database) provides the titles, descriptions, posters and logos. Your browser loads images from TMDB, so TMDB can see your IP address and browser details. Where-to-watch data comes from JustWatch through TMDB.
- Google Gemini and Groq write the short “why this” notes. They receive only titles and public descriptions, never information about you.
- YouTube trailers load from its privacy-enhanced domain only after you click the trailer button.
- Hosting: the site runs on Hostinger servers, which keep ordinary server logs (including IP addresses) for security and operation.
In the background the site also asks Wikipedia, Trakt, YouTube and search-engine notification services (IndexNow) about what is popular and which pages are new. These requests contain no visitor data.
On your device
Your browser stores your light or dark theme choice, the titles you marked as seen, your watchlist and your cookie choice on your own device. This does not reach our server, and you can clear it any time in your browser settings.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its use, and to complain to your national data protection authority.
